September 2023 – Instruments for Cuba Update
Dear Friends, I am so happy and proud to let you know that through the CD sales and donations you have helped raise €25,000 for the fund. This is really fantastic! During our Mozart y Mambo tours in 2021and 2023 we were able to purchase various instruments for the Havana Lyceum Orchestra, including 2 double basses, a flute, a clarinet, a trumpet, some percussion instruments, 2 horns and we could get all the violins and violas either repaired or the bows restrung. We bought accessories such as strings, rosin, reeds, tools and other important things which are impossible to obtain in Cuba. We also had some incredibly generous instrument donations: 4 oboes, 5 violins, a viola and a cello. The musicians of the Havana Lyceum Orchestra and I can’t begin to thank you all enough, your support means the world to us. I will keep supporting these wonderful young musicians as much as I can. Muchas gracias!
